safe and sound in bruxelles

we made it...just in case anyone was worried...

we survived the extremely long airplane rides...i actually quite enjoyed the flight from Minneapolis to Amsterdam.....we just watched movies and talked and ate the whole time...it was fabulous

we survived having a head cold while traveling ALL day long...not so fabulous....max and i were both about ready for our heads to explode every time we started to descend...so not fun

we are attempting to survive the time difference...we figured we had been awake for 24 hours...we crashed the moment we could (and now i am finding it difficult to go to sleep..dang time change)

we survived the crazy european driving....they drive as if their cars are protected by some specical shield...i was shocked that no one got in a wreck

we survived finding the apartment ( my biggest concern)

and we survived we had our first shopping trip/cooking attempt....this is going to be the hardest adjustment...i think we went to 3 or 4 stores before we saw anything that looked good....i really didn't imagine the food would be this different, but we had a successful frozen pizza and bought some cereal and milk to hold us down till we can figure this all out....i figure as long as they have frozen pizza and cereal (which they don't have a lot of) we will be okay

all of the things that made me nervous about going have turned out to be nothing....which makes me even more excited about these next three months...
