Day 13 & 14 - Sofia, Bulgaria

After Belgrade we headed out on another night train...which was worst than the first one believe it or not. We had the option to go with a 6 person compartment or a 4 person compartment. Since there were only 6 of us we were a little worried if we did 2, 4 person compartments a stranger would be in with us. But a 6 person compartment would be incredibly tight...so we ended up just buying out the compartments, so we split the 4th bed! It ended up working so well because the compartments were so small, the bed was about as wide as me. Some other Lauder groups were on the train also and they had to share their compartments with strangers...that would just be too much for me to handle!

But we made it to Sofia...again on no sleep for me...but we rested a little and head out to explore. Sofia was honestly my least favorite city, but it is cool to experience a culture that is so different from my own. My favorite part was seeing the Orthodox churches, they are so fascinating to me. Especially ones that haven't been taken care of because the ceilings are just dark from the incense smoke.
