it’s been awhile….so i am going to attempt a catch up…and it’s going to be long
going back to the middle of September….we went on a little trip back to the east coast and had a blast
day 1- new hampshire, vermont
we checked out dartmouth in hanover
then headed out to sharon, vt to check out the birthplace of Joseph Smith
day2-palymra and fayette, ny
we had a great sunday going to palymra and the sacred grove. i love visiting places like this because it really reminds me of that what happened there was real. the sister missionary told us of a story with pres. hinckley and the press. Pres. hinckley was asked (not these exact words but close) “if you are only getting a few baptisms from the church history sites do you really think it is worth it? Then Pres. Hinckley replied with (again not the exact words) “it is nice that we get a few baptisms but these sites aren’t for baptisms they are to strengthen the members.” I really felt that there…it strengthened my testimony and love for the gospel.
day 3- ithaca, ny
maxwell and i checked out cornell university. max had a tour with the business school there so i wandered around ithaca….
then we check out some beautiful falls there
day 4-philadelphia, pa
this day brought us to Wharton (UPenn). i loved this place. i am definitely a city girl. the school was so unique, i loved exploring it. max again had a tour at the school so i got to explore UPenn.
Then we went on a tour of Independence Hall.
Ended up in a rough part of philly…which may have scared us just a bit (gang fight, on the corner, stopped car, police…)
day 5-washington d.c.
we did our best to see all of d.c. in one day…which is hard with all of the awesome museums there. but we managed to see the main parts
day 6- charlottesville, va
we had a beautiful drive through va. our gps took us through beautiful country roads…so pretty….
we also checked out the university of virginia
day 7- durham, nc
today was a tour and interview for max at duke…i ended up again touring campus again but this time in a downpour…
day 8-north carolina to virginia to maryland to delaware to new jersey to new york to rhode island
yea it was a long day driving..but we saw a lot
max doesn’t really like new york driving though
we ended with a nice coastal dinner
day 9- cape anne and flight home
spent our last morning walking the streets of my favorite place cape anne then caught a flight home

ah! University of Virginia and Duke are GORGEOUS! I'm so happy you posted about your trip! I've been waiting :)
You guys are going to become east coasters!! Sounds like it is going to be a hard decision with so many awesome options. I personally voted for Ithaca... For some reason upstate new york just sounds fun to me. I am also very impressed you packed SO much in your trip. I'm sure you'll do more exploring once you move out.
