conference weekend

conference weekend is one of my most favorite weekends of the year....it's the start of fall weather and provides inspiration that is so needed...it always makes me so grateful to be a member of this incredible church and to live in beautiful places....

we started off our conference weekend by discovering some beautiful trails and enjoying a long awaited trail run...

we also went suit shopping which was fun to watch my husband try on all sorts of suits to prep for interviews...the king of prussia mall is HUGE and requires a map

then we came home and enjoyed watching conference from our laptop...

my favorite talk was President Eyring's talk. it was an answer to prayers and so inspirational. one of my favorite quotes was "we can't insist on our timetable, this can obscure our view of God. His time should be enough for us." Another was "delays are always calculated to bless". i love this. i struggle with trusting in the Lord's timetable...i struggle with aligning my will to his, sometimes the pain is just to much and i can't get past it. i have a hard time feeling that peace and letting "his time be enough". but Pres. Eyring said things in a way that helped me understand we can only feel that peace once we fully let ourselves trust in the Lord's timetable. that by aligning our will the peace will come, the pain will lessen and we will be strengthened through Christ. it was a beautiful talk. He also said "God is not separated from us, we put up a pavilion  we become distracted with things of the world." I love that. God will never forget or leave us....it is us that puts distance between us...

i also really enjoyed the relief society broadcast the week before. i thought all of the talks were beautifully centered around the atonement and how it helps us to be better. i also had a very neat experience. there is a sister in the ward, native to philly, who has had some brain damage due to seizures. she doesn't talk much, but she has read the book of mormon so many times. her faith and dedication to the church is incredible. i gave her a ride home and she lives in a very scary part of town (our church is in a very scary part of town as well) and as she was getting out of the car she said "thank you for the ride, the bus is scary at night." i was so overcome with her love for the gospel. she attended the relief society broadcast (which can be found online) all by herself, knowing she would have to ride the scary bus home. she sacrificed so much to be there. i am so grateful to be around these spiritual giants that inspire me to live life better....
