so for that past two weeks husband and i have been preparing for an internship showcase at BYU. there were 6 main categories, a winnner and runner-up for each catergory. then there was also an overall winner. anyways we worked really hard to fulfill the requirements for each category. we made a fun powerpoint, framed some of our pictures and even got some waffles donated from Bruges Waffles and Fries in SLC (they were a hit).
it was a lot of fun preparing for this and reminiscing about our awesome internship.
well yesterday was the showcase and we arrived at 7:30 am to set up! the showcase started at 9 am. We had to be judged by two judges, so we waited around for them to come and stop by. the morning was a little slow, not many students. but by the afternoon husband was talking to quite a few people about his internship. he did such a good job talking about the internship and giving people ideas of what is available.
i'm not gonna lie when i say i really wanted to win something, we had worked hard and the prize for winning was pretty sweet. so needless to say i walked around to check out the competition....and all i can say about the other people presentation's is that it stinks competing at BYU because everyone is an over achiever. There were some pretty good showcases...i was a little nervous about our chances...but knew that husband was pretty awesome so i shouldn't be too discouraged..
to cut to the chase they began announcing the winners...we were hoping to win the most unique internship (we figured we had a pretty good chance) and I thinking maybe runner up....but if you haven't guessed by now husband won MOST UNIQUE INTERNSHIP! It was pretty exciting and felt good to see our hard work pay off. I was super excited for him and proud of him. The prize money was 250 dollars! Pretty sweet!
